BLM Fire Prevention and Education
Prevention and education staff work with partners, the public and other groups to prevent human-caused wildfires. Prevention involves developing specific plans and programs designed to educate and inform the public and may also involve fire investigation and fire mitigation. These types of positions may or may not have fitness standards. Positions in this specialty include prevention technicians, mitigation and education specialists, and fire investigators.
